Johannes Gutenberg1. The first book Gutenberg is known to have printed was the Bible. Explain why you think he chose that book to be his first printed project.
2. Before Gutenberg's development of the printing press, most of the few people who were able to read were either rich or religious leaders. Why do you think that was so? 3. After the development more people were able to read. How do you think rich people felt about this? Explain. 4. It has been said that, "information is power". What do you think that means? 5. You are responsible for creating a timeline of Johanness Gutenberg's life. On your weebly site under the yearbook tab, write a brief description of who Johannes Gutenberg is. Next, create a time line about the life of Johannes Gutenberg and about how his invention, the printing press, influenced the development of newspapers. 1. Rank the five parts of the first amendment in order of importance, 1 being the most important to you and five being the least. Explain your reasoning. 2. Create a layout that lists the five parts of the first amendment. It should be aesthetically pleasing and informative. This can be done on Prezi, Publisher, Picnik, etc.
History of FilmCreate a presentation of at least fifteen slides detailing the history of film (beginning roughly in the 1880’s with Thomas Edison, and the Lumiere brothers and Georges Melies in the 1890’s). In your presentation you need to discuss the early technology of film, the people involved in its invention and development, the forms it took, and so on. Your research must show how film has evolved over the past one hundred and thirty years, including examples of touchstone films from various points in its evolution. You need to include an examination (with examples) of some of the primary film genres. Explain how the genres differ from one another. Finally, you need to dedicate several slides at the end of your presentation to the three stages of filmmaking. Explain what is involved in each stage, and provide examples wherever appropriate. You must have a “Works Cited” slide at the end.

Answer the following questions on your weebly after reading the article. 1. Should state officials have charged the Denicores over their kids’ tardiness? Why/why not? 2. Should education be compulsory? If so, should that mean making your kids late to school once is against the law? What about 30 times in a school year, as is the case here? 3.
